At the beginning of February 2025, the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court agreed to arrest from most of the winter uniform, which appears in a high -profile criminal proceedings for theft in defense purchases. We are talking about more than 46 thousand jackets and 42 thousand pairs of pants purchased by the Ministry of Defense at Vector Avia.
The decision was made on the basis of the request of the Armed Forces Logistics Forces. The temporary head of this unit, Brigade General Oleg Mr., personally appealed to the court to thaw the material evidence, emphasizing that the arrested clothing can be used in less extreme weather conditions. The court also took into account logistics difficulties: storing tens of thousands of sets needed considerable resources.
However, the court separately noted that his decision did not in any way confirm the quality of this equipment. Expertise must be completed for the final assessment - only 50 units of each category are left under arrest.
These clothing is part of a high -profile case, which is suspected of former Deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov and the Extolist Bogdan Khmelnitsky. According to the investigation, in 2022, they concluded several contracts for winter equipment for more than $ 30 million from Vector Avia. According to the case file, the delivered goods did not correspond to the technical characteristics - the jackets had insufficient weight and thermal insulation.
The company "Vector Avia" was associated with the People's Deputy from the "servant of the people" Gennady Kasi. One of its co-founders was his nephew-a 26-year-old handball player from Zaporozhye Alexander Kasai. Subsequently, the firm came under the full control of Roman Pletnev, a businessman, who is also associated with a number of other companies, which include former prosecutors and persons close to the Presidential Office.
Despite the doubtful reputation of the firm, its products will now be supplied to the military. This situation raises many questions - both to the system of control in the Ministry of Defense and the mechanisms of court decisions on material evidence in criminal cases.
