The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support (TCC and SP) provided clarification on the mobilization of men under the age of 25.
Messages with complaints about the mobilization of young men who are not yet 25 years old often appear in social networks, which causes considerable resonance and indignation.
According to the statement of the TCC and SP, men between the ages of 18 and 25 are usually enrolled in the category of conscripts. However, there are cases when such persons can be mobilized. In particular, this is possible if a man:
- Completed military service in peacetime;
- Graduated from a higher military educational institution or military department and received a certain military accounting specialty;
- Recognized by the military medical commission as limited fit in peacetime, but fit in wartime.
In the notification of the TCC and the JV, it is stated that from April 2024 the status of "limited suitability" was canceled. People who had this status remain conscripted, even if they are less than 25 years old. Such persons may be checked for the availability of current military registration documents and sent for re-examination by the military medical commission.
According to the new legislation, after passing the military medical commission, a man can receive one of the following statuses:
- Fit for service;
- Suitable for service in military support units, TCC and SP, military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical units, units of logistics, communication, operational support, security;
- Ineligible for military service with exclusion from military registration;
- Temporarily unfit - requires treatment, leave, release from official duties;
- Unfit for military service with review after 6-12 months.
The Military Commissariat also noted the regulatory framework that should be guided by. These are the laws "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine 'On Military Duty and Military Service'", "On Amendments to Some Laws of Ukraine Regarding Ensuring the Rights of Military and Police Officers to Social Protection", as well as the Order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "On Approving Changes to the provision on military medical examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine".
Such clarifications help to better understand the situation with the mobilization and relieve certain worries among the population.
