The capture of Kherson is an extremely difficult operation for Russian troops, because for this it is necessary to cross the wide Dnipro River, which is under constant fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in an interview for the Espresso TV channel.
Voloshyn emphasized that crossing such a large water barrier as the Dnipro is not just a crossing, but a complex and large-scale operation that requires careful preparation and significant resources. Massive support of artillery and aviation is necessary, as well as the concentration of large forces, which is practically impossible to hide from Ukrainian intelligence.
"Modern warfare involves constant control with the help of drones, which observe every movement of the enemy. Therefore, it is not realistic to hide preparations for the forcing of such a large reservoir as the Dnipro," he said.
At the moment, as Voloshyn added, Ukrainian troops control all approaches to Kherson and a significant part of Kherson Oblast. In particular, the Krynkiv bridgehead is completely under the fire control of the Armed Forces. The occupiers are not making any serious attempt to prepare the fording of the Dnieper, and their forces at the mouth of the river are not sufficient to carry out such an operation.
