The Yavoriv District Court of Lviv region issued a sentence of a participant of hostilities, which for more than nine months was absent in its military unit without the permission of the command. It is a native of the city of Slavuta of the Khmelnytsky region Alexander R., who was found guilty of unauthorized leave.
According to the case file, Alexander R. left part of August 7, 2024 without permission and was outside it until May 23, 2025. More than 9 months have passed at the time of return.
In court, the man pleaded guilt and explained his act of health and emotional burnout. He stated that he has been serving since 2015, has the status of a participant in the fighting, but in recent years he began to feel serious exhaustion - both physical and moral.
Judge Natalia Kondratiev took into account the circumstances, but appointed five years in prison in accordance with Part 5 of Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service in martial law. The verdict has not yet come into force and may be challenged.
