Mobilization in Ukraine in August takes place in accordance with the new draft law, which entered into force on May 18. According to this law, conscripted citizens, including women, must update their data in the TCC. Those who ignore this requirement may face serious consequences. However, the mobilization of women, including medics, remains voluntary.
Women's mobilization in August - what will change
In August, female doctors, as before, must register for the military. This usually happens during university studies. Women of other professions can register at will.
The mobilization of doctors remains voluntary, and they may even refuse to sign a contract under certain circumstances. Women with medical specialties had to update their military registration data and pass a medical examination on an equal basis with men. Those who have not done so by July 18 may be fined in August. The fine for failure to appear before the TCC is from 17 to 25 thousand hryvnias.
In addition to fines, violators will not be able to get a job or work in the medical field if they are not registered with the TCC. Employers can inform the military commissariats about female workers with medical education who are not registered.
Who is subject to mobilization and whether it is possible to go abroad
Women with medical specialties are considered conscripts. The list of professions includes physical therapy, medical and psychological rehabilitation, public health, physical rehabilitation, industrial pharmacy, dentistry, nursing and other medical specialties. The availability of medical education obliges women to be registered, regardless of whether they work by profession.
Military women who fight on a contract basis, as well as civil servants, cannot go abroad. The rest of the Ukrainian women, including military medics, are released.
A new draft law on mobilization in Ukraine requires women with medical specialties to update their military records. Although mobilization remains voluntary for them, failure to comply may result in fines and other restrictions. This emphasizes the importance of compliance with the law and a responsible attitude to military accounting.
