The State Bureau of Investigation exposed the scheme of theft of fuel in the conditions of martial law. The head of the logistics service of one of the military units of Kiev, using his official position, together with other servicemen organized a large-scale theft of fuel and lubricants. According to preliminary estimates, the state has caused losses of over UAH 300 thousand.
According to the press service of the department, the official, together with the accomplices, made inflated rates of fuel consumption to the path sheets, which allowed to create fictitious residues of fuel. This fuel was stored in a special garage located near the military unit, and subsequently came true for trusted buyers.
From September 2024 to March 2025, 3,000 liters of diesel and 2,000 liters of gasoline were stolen under this scheme, which caused more than 300 thousand hryvnias to the state.
The investigation conducted searches at the place of residence and the suspect's service. Documents, equipment, and a considerable amount of cash were seized - $ 63.3 thousand and 5.3 thousand euros.
The head of the logistics service was informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft of military property by prior conspiracy by a group of persons in the conditions of martial law). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 15 years.
The suspect was chosen a pre -trial detention measure with the right to make a bail of UAH 600,000. The investigation is ongoing, a full range of persons involved in the offense is established.
The procedural guidance in the case is carried out by the specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Central Region.
