The suspicion of which the State Bureau of Investigation was handed over to the head of the Center for Corruption by Vitaliy Shabunin, has become the subject of severe criticism by veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In particular, a veteran called Stalker called it an "important signal" for anyone who is covered by the army for personal benefits.
"Suspicion of Shabunin is an important signal to all mobilized evasants from the rear battalion" Invisible ": it is impossible to parasite on the Armed Forces," the veteran wrote on social networks, emphasizing that such cases are destroying confidence in real soldiers.
According to Stalker, Shabunin was formally numbered in the 207 of the territorial defense battalion, but in fact it did not appear in part. Nevertheless, he received financial support, in particular a monthly remuneration of 30 thousand hryvnias, and remained in charge of the NAPC, continuing active public life in the capital.
The veteran also pointed to the use of the Nissan Pathfinder Shabunin car, which was imported as humanitarian assistance for the A7376 military unit, but did not get to the unit. According to him, the car remained at the disposal of the activist.
The case, which has been stretching since 2022, has tried several times, but, as Stalker notes, the investigating judge of VAKS canceled the last decision to close the proceedings, which allowed the suspicion to be released.
"The next logical step was the suspicion of the" anti -corruption officer ". Today it happened," the veteran stressed.
In a comment, he also added that such suspicion "saved" Shabunin from an informal "condemnation" among the military: "If you do not clean such by law now - the boys will come and clean it in fairness."
As previously reported, Shabunin is charged with two articles: evasion of military service in the conditions of martial law (Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and fraudulent seizure of large -sized property (Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 10 years in prison.
