On the night of October 29, Kyiv suffered another drone attack by Russian troops. During the strike in the Solomyansk district, UAV debris caused the depressurization of a gas pipe located on the facade of a nine-story building, which led to the ignition of a store, as well as to a fire in parked cars and a commercial building. According to the report of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the fire covered an area of 50 square meters and was extinguished at 05:37, almost an hour after it started.
During the attack, rescuers evacuated 15 people, four of whom were injured. One man was hospitalized with serious leg injuries, and the other victims were treated at the scene.
In addition to the Solomyanskyi district, drone wreckage also fell in the Svyatoshynskyi district on open territory. The windows in the three-story administrative building were broken, but fortunately, there were no reports of casualties.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, this is the eighteenth Russian airstrike on Kyiv since the beginning of October. Enemy drones entered the capital from different directions, and thanks to the work of the Ukrainian military, part of the devices were neutralized in the air. During the night, the air alert was announced twice, and in total it lasted more than four hours.
As a result of the strike, three parked cars burned down in the Solomyan district, and a fire in a store and a commercial building caused significant material damage. The message from the authorities emphasized the extent of damage in residential and administrative areas, and also once again called on Kyiv residents to observe safety rules during air raids.
The nighttime shelling of Kyiv once again reminds us of the danger posed by constant attacks on civilian infrastructure and residential areas of the capital, leaving behind not only material damage, but also physical and emotional wounds to civilians.
