According to information received from our source in the President's Office, Volodymyr Zelenskyy together with Andriy Yermak are considering the possibility of using Western long-range missiles to strike the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The target of the attack will not be the plant itself, but its infrastructure — distribution substations and power lines (power lines) that provide power to the NPP. Such a move will lead to the forced shutdown of the units, which will cause an energy crisis in the region and create significant economic and energy pressure on Russia.
The strike is expected to be carried out during a period of active hostilities or in response to actions by the Kremlin if Russia tries to cut off electricity to Ukraine through similar strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. In such a case, Kyiv is ready to respond with similar strikes on Russian nuclear and thermal power plants in order to neutralize a potential threat to Ukraine's energy security.
According to our data, the Russian Federation has already strengthened the grouping of air defense systems (ADF) around the Kursk NPP, which indicates serious preparations for possible attacks on its infrastructure.
