Motoragistral-South, which appears in numerous state contracts, found itself at the epicenter of a corruption scandal. According to the National Police, its owner Alexander Boyko was suspected of appropriation of more than UAH 240 million during the implementation of a large -scale infrastructure project - the construction of a water supply for Kryvyi Rih.
This object was critical after the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station is undermining by Russian troops, when Kryvyi Rih remained without proper water supply. The total amount of contracts of the company in this direction amounted to about UAH 7.4 billion. But instead of the implementation of the work, according to investigators, a large -scale scheme was organized to appropriate funds due to dummy costs and overestimation of cost.
Today, five cases of the case have been reported suspicion. According to representatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations, both the heads of the company and related officials and consultants were involved in the scheme. The total amount of probable losses, according to preliminary estimates, can reach several billion hryvnias.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who personally took control, stated that all suspicions were declared on the basis of examinations and were legal. According to him, the materials of the investigation leave no doubt about the presence of violations.
At the same time, the company "Motoragistral-South" is with the opposite position. Deputy Director General Valery Vakarchuk stated that the state is guilty of more than UAH 7 billion. According to him, the company has built an object at its own expense, and it has not yet received payment. Because of this, the firm does not transfer the object to the state balance.
“We have significant costs for maintaining non -compensated water supply more than a year. The suppliers we worked were looking for funding on their own and went to delay payments, ”Vakarchuk said.
The company insists: all actions were within the contract, and now the investigation needs to be separated from political pressure. However, as the law enforcement officers implies, it is not only a delay in funding, but a purposeful scheme for withdrawal of budget funds.
The case is already compared with other corruption scandals in the field of infrastructure - scale and amounts cause resonance even with experienced investigators. If the defendants are proven, they are threatened with up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
