Russia prepares a large -scale escalation of hostilities in several directions, trying to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region and Luhansk region, as well as to create a buffer zone in the border areas of Kharkiv and Sumy regions. The deputy head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, a former commander of the 93rd Cold Yar brigade, Pavel Palis, told this in an interview with TV
According to him, in the near future the enemy concentrates efforts in these areas. Particular attention should be paid to the likely attempts of the Russians to "punch" defense in the Zaporozhye direction, as well as the development of the offensive due to the forcing of a water obstacle in the Kherson region.
“The enemy will focus the main efforts in the near future to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They will also try to create a buffer zone along the border in the Kharkiv and Sumy region, ”Palis said.
In addition, he emphasized that Russian attacks on civilians are part of a terror strategy aimed at influencing Ukraine's international support. In particular, Moscow is trying to weaken the position of Kiev in the eyes of Western partners.
“Russian terror in Ukrainian civilians influence the negotiation position of the United States. President Zelensky and even US President Donald Trump have repeatedly said this. Victims of terror do not cost a change of this thought, ”he emphasized.
Palis has once again emphasized that the only language that Russia understands is the language of power, which is why it must be stopped with decisive actions.
Equally important, he said, is the help of Western partners - both in the short -term and strategic perspective. Ukraine is already working to increase its own defensive capacity, but some types of Western weapons remain critically indispensable.
"Now work is underway to expand the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, the nomenclature of production and creation of own air defense systems, own missile systems of the operative-tactical level, ammunition for already received from partners of complexes,"-he said.
In the current environment, military cooperation with partners is the key to not only restraining the enemy, but also building long -term defense independence of Ukraine.
