On the night of March 17, Russian troops caused a massive blow to the oil refineries in the Metrof (Kharkiv region). This is the fourth attack on the enterprise since the beginning of a full -scale war.
According to the AES Group, which owned the factory, the blow of drones lasted two hours. After that, a large -scale fire broke out at the company, which rescuers extinguished all night.
"This is the fourth attack on the factory since February 2022, and by yesterday there are only 10% of capacity.
Pyrotechnics and rescuers continue to work at the tragedy site. As a result of the attack:
the plant is destroyed and is not recoverable,
bankruptcy procedure has begun, and
the company's management has the latest hopes for international courts.
"We look forward to international courts, although there is little chance of the current geopolitical situation," - commented at AES Group.
This case is another blow to Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Russia continues to methodically destroy oil refineries and energy facilities in order to deprive the country with the ability to provide itself with fuel.
