in the Diya for the name of the national large language model (LLM), which Ukraine is developing in partnership with Kyivstar . This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine .
Users were asked to choose a final name from ten options selected from over 3,000 ideas. Among them were: Syayvo, Pytay, Slovo, Dzvinka, Hoverla, Shypit, Shukai, Yadro, Kavun, and Homin.
Voting will last until March 29 and will take place directly in the application — in the "Services" section and the "Polls" tab. The result of this vote will determine what the Ukrainian language model of artificial intelligence will be called.
According to the developers, the future LLM will be adapted to the Ukrainian context. It will be able to understand dialects, historical features, and language specifics, which should make it more effective compared to universal models.
The new system is expected to be used in various areas, from the public sector and business to education, science, and defense.
Work on the creation of the Ukrainian language model has been ongoing for several months. At the end of 2025, data collection for its training began, involving more than 90 government institutions. A development team has also been formed to work on the project.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs notes that creating its own LLM is an important step for Ukraine's digital independence and the development of national artificial intelligence technologies.
