Ukrainian studio GSC Game World has again announced the postponement of the release of the long-awaited shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The release, originally scheduled for September 5th for PC and Xbox Series, will now take place on November 20th.
The developers announced the new transfer through an ironic trailer called "What, again?", in which they admitted that players may be disappointed by another delay. The reason for the postponement is the need for additional time to fix bugs and improve the gameplay.
To make up for the delay, GSC Game World has announced the STALKER 2 Developer Deep Dive event on August 12th. At this event, the developers plan to share new information about the game and show a large part of the gameplay.
This is the fifth time that the release of STALKER 2 has been postponed. The game was originally supposed to be released back in 2022, but was delayed due to a number of factors, including the relocation of the GSC Game World studio to Prague due to the war.
In June, journalists got access to a preview version of the game and noted that STALKER 2 retains the spirit of the original trilogy. Stalker fans will feel nostalgic and have even compared the game to Red Dead Redemption 2 for its depth and detail.
The events of the game will take place in the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. STALKER 2 promises a combination of first-person shooter, horror and immersive simulator elements. The main plot will last about 40 hours, and there will also be variability in the passage and four endings.
One of the key features of the game will be advanced artificial intelligence and an improved life simulation system. Characters, mutants and animals will interact with each other and with the environment without the participation of the player, which will make the gameplay even more exciting and realistic.
