People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the draft State Budget for 2025 currently does not provide for funding for holding any elections. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel .
"For the elections in the Budget (for 2025 - ed.), nothing has been laid yet. That is, expenditures on the CEC are almost at this year's level, even a little less," said the People's Deputy.
This means that the budget for the Central Election Commission for the next year remains practically at the level of 2024, without providing for additional funds for holding national elections.
At the same time, the "classic article" that was already in previous years remains in the budget. It stipulates that after the termination or cancellation of martial law, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine together with the CEC must submit to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration proposals to amend the budget. These changes should provide financing for the preparation and holding of regular presidential, people's deputies, and local elections .
This is already the third adoption of this article, which indicates the long-term uncertainty with the issue of elections under martial law.
