The military lawyer drew attention to the controversial actions of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs), which create serious risks even for those who have long been excluded from military registration.
In her practice, Daria Holodniak came across a case when a man, excluded from military registration due to his health more than 20 years ago, received a demand to replace his military registration document (VOD).
Despite the fact that its status was officially confirmed, the TCC declared that the old document was invalid. For a replacement, the man was offered to contact the center in person.
"At first glance, it looks like a simple procedure," the lawyer notes. — However, in reality, it often includes passing a military medical commission (MMC), after which citizens excluded from registration risk being added to the lists of conscripts."
According to the lawyer, many citizens do not even suspect that applying to the TCC can lead to a change in their status in the Unified State Register of conscripts, conscripts and reservists.
"Such situations are not isolated. People excluded from registration due to serious health problems may find themselves in a risky situation due to bureaucratic actions," Daria Holodnyak emphasizes.
The lawyer advises:
- Carefully check the requirements of the TCC. Before taking any actions, you should familiarize yourself with the official documents and requirements.
- Consult with lawyers. This will help to avoid rash steps that can have serious consequences.
- Keep copies of documents. This applies to both old military registration documents and all new requirements from the TCC.
This case highlights the need for legal awareness and caution when dealing with TCCs. Daria Holodnyak emphasizes that every citizen has the right to protect his status and avoid unreasonable risks.
"Knowing your rights and contacting specialists in a timely manner can protect you from unwanted consequences," concludes the lawyer.
