The executive service of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine imposed a fine on the political party "European Solidarity" for non-compliance with a court decision. The party did not refute the statement of its leader, the fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, that the lawyer Andrii Portnov was allegedly involved in the transfer of the "seamen's case" materials to the Russian Federation.
The decision of the justice department in Kyiv's Podilsk district states that Poroshenko's party, according to the court's decision, had to refute the statements on this topic, which appeared on its website, by May 23, but did not comply with the order. For this, she was fined 5,100 hryvnias and given a new deadline to fulfill the obligation - until July 4.
Earlier, Portnov ordered the "Pryamiy" TV channel through the court to refute this statement of Poroshenko.
In 2019, the former president stated that Portnov handed over to Russia the materials of the SBI case regarding the sailors who were captured by Russia while trying to pass through the Kerch Strait.
Portnov denied this and sued Poroshenko, winning the case.
