The Security Service of Ukraine reported the exposure and detention of a traitor in one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As it turned out, the serviceman worked for Russian military intelligence and passed the occupants of important information about the location of the defense units in the Kupyansk direction.
According to the investigation, the traitor was recruited by the Russian agent in January 2025. Its curator was an employee of the Russian military intelligence, who operates on the Eastern Front. The serviceman regularly sent the coordinates of Ukrainian combat positions, headquarters, command points and fire bonds. He used encrypted communication to communicate with the enemy - he sent voice messages through anonymous chats in messengers.
Particularly dangerous is the fact that the traitor had to leave the territory shortly before the rocket-bombing strikes planned by the Russians for its coordinates. Fortunately, the SBU's military counterintelligence has discovered its activity in time and prevented a potential catastrophe on the front line.
The detention occurred directly near the fighting line. The SBU has documented his contacts with the Russian side, including ways of transmitting information and the content of communications.
Currently, the traitor has been suspected under Article 111 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - a state treason committed in martial law. He is threatened with life imprisonment.
The Security Service of Ukraine emphasizes that the fight against hostile agents continues at all levels, and urges servicemen to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their units.
