Service chiefs and unit commanders of 31 separate mechanized brigades (OMBr) expressed their disagreement with the management's decision to replace their commander, Colonel Andriy Usanov. In a corresponding appeal to the commander of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, they call for a review of this decision, which caused concern among the military.
"He does not mindlessly put his people behind medals, for him the first place is the life of each of us, that is why the commander of the 31st OMbr, Colonel Andriy Yuriyovych USANOV, is objectionable to the higher command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and he is being removed from his post. The chiefs of services and unit commanders oppose such a decision of the Commander-in-Chief," the appeal reads.
It is also emphasized that Colonel USANOV Andriy Yuriyovych is a professional military man, a paratrooper officer, a commander who has respect and authority among his subordinate brigade personnel, who is trusted and under whose command every serviceman of the 31st OMBr is ready to go into battle. A commander who effectively plans and conducts combat operations, who rationally uses human resources and values each and every one. Under his leadership, the brigade achieved significant success, which was repeatedly recognized by the higher command.
"But, unfortunately, the higher command does not need the truth about the actual state of affairs on the front line, which is courageously held by our fighters under the command of Colonel USANOV, of which there are very few left, and instead of replenishing the infantry battalions with mobilization resources, the command decides to replace of the brigade commander, which is not rational and meaningless, since the combat capability of the units will not increase as a result, and shells for the howitzers will not appear. With this decision, the morale and psychological state and fighting spirit of the brigade will significantly decrease, and trust in the higher command will be undermined.
We ask that you leave Colonel Andriy Yuriyovych USANOV as the commander of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade!" - emphasized the service chiefs and unit commanders of 31 separate mechanized brigades.
