A teacher of the Academy of Land Forces in Lviv is suspected of physically beating and humiliating cadets, the State Bureau of Investigation reported through its press service.
The head of the training course of one of the faculties of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny got suspicious. According to established data, for more than a year he physically punished and humiliated the cadets in an attempt to "educate" them in discipline and order. This happened both on the territory of the academy in Lviv and in the barracks of one of the villages of the region.
The methods of "education" were revealed only in March 2024 during the registration of criminal proceedings. The investigation documented cases of physical attacks on four cadets, who were beaten on the head and other parts of the body by the head of the course. He used not only his hands, but also a weapon and a belt. Even small irregularities or errors in the journal provoked his anger. One of the cadets was forced to eat cigarettes in front of the others due to being late to line up due to smoking.
The pre-trial investigation continues, and additional episodes of illegal activity are currently being established. Recently, the person involved in the case was transferred to another position in one of the military units in the Lviv Region. He was informed of the suspicion of violence by a military official against a subordinate, which occurred under martial law (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years. At the request of the SBI, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect — detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 908.4 thousand hryvnias.
We will remind that the official of the Military College of the sergeant's staff of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Pyotr Sahaidachny in Lviv was exposed for receiving a bribe for transporting the petitioner across the state border.
