In light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its devastating consequences, it is necessary to find ways to de-escalate the tension. One of the steps to end the hot phase of the war may be a mutual cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities. This approach not only reduces human losses, but also creates conditions for constructive dialogue between the parties.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Zelensky, reports The Financial Times.
"We saw during the first (peaceful) summit that a decision could be made regarding energy security. In other words: we don't attack their energy infrastructures, they don't attack ours. Could this bring an end to the hot phase of the war? I think so," FT quotes Zelensky.
Earlier, the Russian Federation said that on the eve of the offensive in the Kursk region, Ukraine refused to agree to an agreement with Russia not to strike on the energy sector.
