The head of the state-owned enterprise Ukrainian Energy Machines (formerly Turboatom), Viktor Subotin, and his family members declared significant assets, including expensive real estate, jewelry collections, luxury watches, and large financial instruments. StopKor journalists provide a list of property and transactions recorded in declarations and public registers.
According to the investigation, Subbotin's wife reported several jewelry collections — from Pascal Bruni to Carrera y Carrera — estimated at hundreds of thousands and over a million hryvnias. The declarations also mention at least 15 Ulysse Nardin and Chopard watches with diamond trim, mink and sable fur coats, and a Hermès Birkin bag made of crocodile skin.
Journalists note that the declarations show a significant "golden" reserve and large income: million-dollar dividends, shares in dozens of companies, and Megabank's creditor positions worth over UAH 183 million. The investment fund, headed by sister Inna Vasyshcheva, allegedly holds family funds worth about UAH 28 million.
Among the real estate, journalists point to an estate near Kharkiv with an area of over 1,000 m² with two guest houses and a well-groomed territory, which is registered for the mother-in-law Nina Yatsenko. The latter also purchased a house with an area of 272 m² and a land plot in Uzhgorod worth over 3.2 million UAH, and in 2023 she became a co-founder of LLC "S-Alpha Green", associated with a large number of land plots.
The declarations also indicate the presence of hunting and rifled weapons (carbines, pistols, shotguns), in particular a Krieghoff combination shotgun and a Browning rifle.
Investigators highlight the contrast between the family's large-scale private luxury and the economic problems of the energy sector: Ukrenergomashyna's 2023 profits reportedly fell to UAH 376 million, excluding some expenses.
Journalists also recall the history of Megabank and the criminal proceedings related to it: after the license was revoked, part of the collateral was considered fictitious, suspicions have already been filed against some of the defendants, while, according to the investigation, no official suspicions have been announced against Subbotin.
