Changeable winter weather is expected in Ukraine today. According to forecasters, light sleet and rain are forecast in the eastern and northeastern regions of the country.
This was reported by the Ukrhydrometeorological Center.
On January 7, there will be mostly no precipitation, only in the eastern and northeastern regions, light wet snow and rain are expected at night. Also, at night, there will be ice in places on the country's roads, except in the south.
According to forecasts, the wind will be predominantly southwest, with a speed of 5-10 meters per second. The temperature at night will range from 3 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees Celsius; during the day 4-9 degrees Celsius, in the Carpathian region and the south of the country 7-12 degrees.
The Ukrhydrometeorological Center also warned that on January 6-7, due to blizzards and subsequent thaw, a significant avalanche danger (level 3) is expected in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Zakarpattia regions.
Weather in Kyiv and the region
In the Kyiv region on Tuesday, January 7, partly cloudy weather, no precipitation. The air will warm up to +9°C.
The region will remain above zero during the day, with a southwest wind of 5-10 m/s.
“Weather forecast for January 7 for the Kyiv region. Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Temperature at night from 3°C to 2°C below zero, 4-9°C during the day; in Kyiv 0-2°C at night, 7-9°C during the day,” the press service of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center said.
As a reminder, Ukrainians can expect changeable weather until the end of the winter period. Frosts will be replaced by warming, and real winter will last only in the Carpathians.
