Ukraine is facing a favorable weekend with mixed weather - some areas are expected to have warm weather for December, but some regions are expected to see a drop in temperature, wet snow, and night frosts. Forecaster Ihor Kibalchych shared a detailed forecast, according to which the weather will vary depending on the region.
Weather December 21
On Saturday, cloudy weather with clearings is expected in the western regions, without significant precipitation. There is ice on the roads in some places. The wind speed will be 5-10 m/s. The thermometer columns will show 0…+5 °C, and in the Carpathians during the day -3…-8 °C.
In northern Ukraine on Saturday there will be no significant precipitation, only in the south of Sumy region will rainy weather persist. Fog is possible in some places. The air temperature during the day will fluctuate within 0…+5 °C.
In the central regions, according to Kibalchich, cloudy weather is expected, with occasional light, sometimes moderate rain. Fog is possible. During the day, thermometers here will show within +1…+6 °C.
In the south of the country, except for Crimea, moderate rain is expected during the day. The air here will warm up to +5…+10 °C, and on the peninsula it will be +10…+15 °C.
During the day, it will rain in eastern Ukraine, except for the Luhansk region, and the thermometer will show +1…+6 °C during the day.
Weather December 22
In western Ukraine, it will be dry at night, and in places during the day there will be light wet snow with rain. There will be ice on the roads in some places. The air temperature at night will drop to -2…-7 °C, during the day it will be -1…+4 °C.
In the northern part of the country, there will be mostly no precipitation, only in the south of Sumy region, wet snow with rain is expected. The temperature at night will be 0…-5 °C, during the day it will be slightly higher, -3…+2 °C.
In the central regions, moderate rain is expected throughout the day, with occasional sleet. In some places, sleet accumulation is possible. At night it will be -1…+4 °C, during the day 0…+5 °C.
In the south of Ukraine, rains will occur at night on Sunday, in places with wet snow, light, in places moderate rain is expected during the day. Wind speed 7-12 m/s, in Odessa and Mykolaiv regions gusts will reach 15-20 m/s. Temperature at night 0…+5 °C, in the daytime +1…+6 °C, and in Crimea – up to +9 °C.
In eastern Ukraine on December 22, rainy weather is expected throughout the day. Fog is possible in some places. Air temperature at night -1…+4 °C, during the day 0…+5 °C.
Frosts in Ukraine
Forecaster Natalka Didenko predicts that on December 21-22, the temperature in Ukraine will start to drop slightly, but there will be no severe frosts. At least until Christmas.
“No special frosts are expected in Ukraine until Christmas,” she said.
