A difficult weather situation is expected in Ukraine today. According to the forecast of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, variable cloudiness will prevail in most of the country, and short-term rains with thunderstorms are possible in the eastern regions. Meteorologists also warn of gusty winds and an extreme level of fire danger in many regions.
In the afternoon, short-term rains with thunderstorms are likely on the Left Bank. In other regions, there will be mostly no precipitation. The north-westerly wind will reach a speed of 7–12 m/s, with gusts of stronger intensity possible in places.
The temperature situation remains contrasting. Forecasters predict +10…+15 °C at night, up to +18 in the south. During the day, the air will warm up to +20…+25 °C, and in the west and southwest in places up to +29 °C.
Meteorologists pay special attention to the risk of fires. From July 1 to 4, an extraordinary level of fire danger is recorded in most regions. The exceptions are the northern regions, as well as Poltava, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Volyn (July 1–2) and Dnipropetrovsk (July 1–3) regions.
The weather in the regions shows significant diversity. For example, the warmest will be in Uzhhorod — up to +29 °C. In Kyiv — comfortable +22…+24 °C without precipitation. In the east — somewhat cooler: in Luhansk — +19…+21 °C with possible rain. In southern cities, such as Odesa and Mykolaiv, dry and sunny weather is expected with temperatures up to +28 °C.
Despite local rains and coolness in some regions, forecasters predict the return of real heat from July 3. A new heat wave is expected, which will raise the thermometer to +35 °C.
