The first month of 2025 promises Ukrainians a variety of weather conditions. While some regions are preparing for a severe cold snap and snowfall, others can expect an official warm winter with above-zero temperatures.
This was reported by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
"In the coming days of January, the weather in Ukraine will be mostly without precipitation, warm enough for the start of a new winter month. Daytime temperatures will range from +3-+8 degrees, and in Crimea even up to +12 degrees Celsius. New Year's Eve, as expected, passed with temperatures from +2 to -3 degrees Celsius," Natalka Didenko noted.
However, it is worth paying attention to the wind, as January 1 and 2 were quite windy. The gusts were especially noticeable in the west of the country, and on January 2 they spread to the west and north of Ukraine. The gusts reached 15-20 meters per second, so people should be careful.
"Ukraine has entered a warm zone, but this warming will not last long. Only on January 1 and 2 will temperatures remain high, and on January 3 the temperature will begin to decrease," the forecaster added.
An atmospheric front will approach from the northwest, bringing rain and sleet to the western and northern regions of Ukraine. Ice formation is possible on the roads.
Permanent snow cover should not be expected, as this is mixed precipitation, and the snow will melt quickly. Daytime and night temperatures will range from -3 degrees Celsius to +4 degrees Celsius. In the south and east of Ukraine, daytime temperatures may even reach +3-+8 degrees Celsius again.
Some drop in temperature can be expected at night, but the frost will not be severe. It will be moderate, with temperatures ranging from -5 to -8 degrees below zero.
