Starting on May 18, a new mobilization law came into effect, requiring all conscripts to update their credentials within 60 days, by July 16.
Military law lawyer, reserve junior lieutenant Volodymyr Romanchuk, noted that citizens who fail to fulfill this obligation may be held accountable.
According to the law, all citizens aged 18 to 60 must update their data. However, not all of them must undergo a military medical examination. If a citizen is excluded from military registration, passed the examination less than a year ago, or updates data through the “Reserve+” application, where the examination is not required, the procedure takes only 15-20 minutes.
Volodymyr Romanchuk explained that in some cases this may take several days, especially if part of the personnel file has not yet been digitized in the territorial recruitment centers.
The law also provides for liability for failure to update data within two months, which may be considered a violation of military accounting rules under Article 210-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Fines are provided for individuals, however, according to the lawyer, those who refuse to update data after being called to the territorial recruitment center are most at risk of being held liable.
