The issue of military registration is relevant for many families in Ukraine, especially when sons reach draft age. According to current legislation, citizens of Ukraine must register for military registration from the year they reach 17 years of age. However, the amount of information that must be provided to the territorial recruitment center (TCK) raises many questions.
personal data during registration .
This may include:
- Passport data;
- Identification code (RNOKPP);
- Information about the place of residence.
The lawyer emphasized that territorial recruitment centers do not have the right to demand additional information from citizens. All other necessary information, in particular regarding education, marital status or health status, can be obtained by the CCC independently through state registers and databases.
“The CCC has access to all major registers, including the Register of Social Status Acts, which allows it to obtain the necessary information without the participation of a citizen,” Ayvazyan explained.
What does the registration process look like?
- Reaching the age of 17. According to the law, a young man must appear at the CCC to receive a registration certificate and acquire the status of a conscript.
- Providing personal data. The conscript provides only the data that identifies him/her.
- Preparation of documents. The CCC independently contacts the relevant registers to collect other necessary data.
The lawyer's explanation indicates that citizens have the right not to provide unnecessary information that is already stored in state registers. This minimizes the possibility of abuse and errors on the part of territorial recruitment centers.
Parents whose sons have reached draft age are advised to familiarize themselves with the current legislation and, if necessary, seek legal advice to avoid misunderstandings when interacting with the CCC.
