What is happening on the northern front?

Russia continues to maintain forces near the Ukrainian border, but there are currently no signs of a mass transfer of troops to the Belgorod region. This was confirmed by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during his speech on the telethon. Despite the absence of active movement of enemy troops, the situation on the border remains tense, which requires constant readiness of Ukrainian border guards for any development of events.

Current situation at the border: what is known

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the issue of security on the state border has become one of the key ones. However, recently there has been a decrease in the activity of Russian troops in the northern directions. As Andriy Demchenko noted, Russia does indeed continue to maintain a certain number of forces in the Belgorod region, but there has been no massive replenishment or build-up of military units there.

Despite the absence of signs of active movement of enemy forces, Ukrainian border guards remain on guard. The main task of the State Border Service at the moment is to maintain and strengthen its own defensive positions on the territory of Ukraine. This allows us to maintain constant readiness for possible aggressive actions by the enemy.

“By holding those forces and means, the enemy can at any moment carry out any actions against our country,” Demchenko emphasized. This readiness is critically important, since even in the absence of a direct offensive, the enemy can carry out sudden attacks or sabotage actions.

The situation on the northern front

The escalation on the northern borders of Ukraine, including the Belgorod and Kursk regions, where fierce fighting continues, increases the risks to the security of the border regions. Ukrainian military officials report that Russian troops in the Belgorod region appear to be more prepared for a possible offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, compared to the situation in the Kursk region. This adds weight to the task of Ukrainian border guards to remain vigilant and respond promptly to any changes in the situation.
