March this year in Ukraine promises to be close to the climatic norm. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, publishing the forecast for the first month of spring.
According to weather forecasters, the average monthly air temperature will be from +1° to +7°. In most regions, this corresponds to long-term indicators. At the same time, in the western regions, as well as in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Odessa regions, the temperature may be 1.5–2.5 degrees higher than normal.
The amount of precipitation in March is forecast to be within 30–53 mm. In the mountainous areas of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions, as well as in the mountains of Crimea, significantly higher figures are possible in places - from 60 to 98 mm. In general, this will be 80–100% of the average monthly norm.
As for the end of February, the weather will remain mostly sunny, and the beginning of March will retain a similar character. According to forecaster of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Natalia Ptukha, from February 26, rain and sleet are still possible in the southeast, but significant precipitation is not expected in most regions.
The temperature will drop slightly at the end of February: at night -2°…-8° is forecast, in the Carpathians in places up to -12°, during the day - from -4° to +1°. It will be warmer in the south and east of the country - about 0°, and in Crimea in some places up to +6°.
On February 27–28, dry weather with clearings will prevail. At night, the temperature will range from -1° to -8°, during the day - from -3° to +3°. In the far west and partly in the south, the air will warm up to +2°…+8°, and in Transcarpathia - to +12°.
The first days of March will be under the influence of an anticyclone. More sun is expected, and night frosts will gradually weaken, indicating a gradual transition to spring weather.
