December has started in Ukraine with calm and stable weather. According to Natalia Ptukha, a forecaster at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, this week is characterized by mostly dry days due to the influence of an anticyclone. However, a certain change in weather conditions is expected by the end of the week.
The anticyclone currently prevailing in the region ensures weather without significant precipitation. Only fogs can be observed in places, especially at night and in the morning. Temperatures remain fairly stable:
- At night: from +1° to -5°, and in some places up to -10° in the Carpathians.
- During the day: from -2° to +3°, in the south – up to +6°.
A feature of early December is almost the same temperature indicators during the day and at night, which indicates a uniform influence of the anticyclone. It is coolest in the Carpathians: night frosts reach -10°, during the day the temperature remains around zero.
Minor changes will begin on Friday, December 6. Atmospheric fronts from the west will bring more cloudiness and precipitation. However, significant snowfall is not expected yet.
- December 6: only “isolated wet snowflakes” are possible.
- December 7: Light sleet and rain are forecast for most regions of Ukraine, except for the southeast. Due to relatively warm temperatures, the snow is unlikely to become completely dry.
The warmest weather will be in the south and Crimea. The daytime temperature here can reach +8…+10°, and at night it will remain around +6°. The southern part of the Odessa region will be especially attractive during this period, where maximum heat is expected.
