Pensioners who are temporarily outside Ukraine or live in temporarily occupied territories will be able to receive their assigned pensions in 2026 only if they undergo physical identification in 2025 — by December 31. The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds: if identity verification has not occurred in the cases specified by law, payments may be terminated.
The fund notes that the lack of physical identification is a reason for stopping the pension. At the same time, if the payment has already been stopped, it can be resumed. To do this, you need to pass identification, after which the pension will be resumed from the date of termination.
Physical identification can be done in several ways. The first option is to personally contact any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, regardless of the place of registration, or to a bank institution. The second option is to verify your identity via video conferencing with the presentation of identity documents. Registration for this procedure is available through the fund's electronic services or the contact center.
Another way is to identify yourself through Diya.Signature by logging into your personal account on the Pension Fund's electronic services web portal using a qualified electronic signature.
For pensioners temporarily residing abroad, there is an option through foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine. At the embassy or consulate, you can obtain a document confirming the person's survival. It must be submitted to the territorial body of the Pension Fund together with an application for the continuation of payments. This can be done by mail or electronically - with the addition of scanned copies and a qualified electronic signature.
The Pension Fund urges not to postpone the procedure, as failure to complete identification by the end of 2025 may lead to the cessation of payments in 2026.
