In Ukraine, police officers assisting the alert teams of the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC) have the right to detain wanted persons. This right does not depend on the presence of a special badge on the police officer, although its absence is a formal violation on the part of the law enforcement officer.
Lawyer Yuriy Ayvazyan explained on the portal "Yuristy.UA" that, when performing their official duties, officers of the National Police of Ukraine who are part of the CCC notification groups have the authority to detain wanted persons, in particular, if they have the status "Wanted" in the "Reserve+" database.
An important point is the issue of the police officer not having a special badge, which may look like a violation. However, according to the lawyer, such a violation does not affect the legality of the law enforcement officer's actions if he showed his ID and clearly introduced himself.
This means that even without a badge, a police officer has the right to detain wanted persons if other conditions for detention are met in accordance with the law.
