What did Trump and Putin agree on?

US President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. Both leaders reportedly agreed on the need to establish a lasting peace and restore dialogue between the United States and Russia.

The statement, which appeared in the media, emphasizes that the war in Ukraine should not have started and should be ended through “sincere peace efforts.” Trump and Putin reportedly agreed on possible infrastructure steps for a ceasefire, as well as potential talks to unblock the Black Sea.

In addition to the Ukrainian issue, the conversation touched on the situation in the Middle East. The leaders discussed the risks of further escalation in the region, especially due to the threat of an expanded military conflict between Iran and Israel.

The statement also talks about the possibility of improving relations between the United States and Russia, which have reached a critically low level in recent years.
