Today, real winter weather will prevail in Ukraine. According to the Ukrhydrometeorological Center , a southern cyclone will bring moderate precipitation in the form of snow and rain to the central, southern and eastern regions. In a number of regions, significant precipitation and complications in transport due to ice are possible.
Forecasters predict that snow and rain of varying intensity will be observed in the southern, eastern, and most central regions throughout the day. Due to fluctuations in temperature near zero, ice will form on the roads. This will create additional risks for drivers and pedestrians.
The most difficult weather conditions are expected in the Odessa region, where significant precipitation is forecast. In Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad and Poltava regions, intense precipitation is likely during the daytime. The air temperature in these regions will range from -3 to +2 degrees.
Moderate snow is also expected in other regions. In Cherkasy and Sumy regions, precipitation is possible during the day. At the same time, significant precipitation is not forecast at night in the north of the country and during the day in the extreme western regions.
In most regions, the temperature will drop to -6 to -11 degrees at night, and 0 to -5 degrees during the day. The coldest weather will be in the north: there, the temperature may drop to -17 degrees at night, and -5 to -10 degrees are expected during the day. The frosty weather will be especially felt at night.
In addition to precipitation, forecasters warn of the formation of a new layer of ice on the roads, except in the southeast. Gusts of northeast and east winds are also forecast in the eastern, most southern and central regions, which will increase the feeling of cold and may complicate the road situation.
Experts urge citizens to monitor operational reports and take difficult weather conditions into account when planning trips.
