In Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine detained three employees of a design company that was helping the Russian side restore damaged oil refineries. The suspects include the head of the department and two engineers.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
According to the investigation, the detainees collaborated with an engineering company of the aggressor state, which is engaged in the reconstruction of Russian oil refineries that are under sanctions and have suffered damage.
"The security service thwarted another attempt by racists to obtain advanced Ukrainian technologies in the fuel and energy complex," the department noted.
Law enforcement officers established that Kyiv specialists were developing design documentation for the repair of technological systems and units at Russian refineries for money.
Engineers used specialized software to prepare drawings, technical diagrams, and instructions for restoring the equipment.
To communicate with Russian customers, they used closed chats in messengers and email.
The SBU documented their activities and detained the suspects at their places of residence.
During the searches, smartphones and computer equipment containing evidence of cooperation with the Russian side were seized from the suspects.
The detainees were informed of suspicion of aiding the aggressor state, committed by a group of individuals in prior conspiracy.
Under this article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, they face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Previously, law enforcement officers have already exposed agent networks that worked for the benefit of Russian special services. In particular, in Odessa, a sailor of the State Border Guard Service was detained , who was passing on the coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities to the enemy.
