In the event of the death of a pensioner, his closest relatives may be entitled to special payments from the state - a pension due to the loss of the breadwinner. According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, in some cases a widow or widower may abandon their pension in favor of this, which is often more profitable.
Who is entitled to a pension in connection with the loss of the breadwinner
Payment is given to the following categories of persons:
-
a non -working husband or wife who has reached retirement age;
-
persons living with one family with the dead;
-
minor children or children with disabilities who have come up to 18 years;
-
full -time students (until 23 years of age);
-
The parents of the deceased.
If there are several persons claiming this pension, its amount is divided equally between everyone.
Terms to receive payments
The first thing that is needed is to prove the fact of cohabitation with the dead at the time of his death. Payments can also be received only by those who were on the maintenance of the deceased - this is confirmed:
-
certificate from local self -government bodies;
-
or court decision.
If there are no such documents, additional evidence can be provided:
-
death and marriage certificate;
-
receipts, acts, certificates, letters or other documents that indicate assistance or financial support;
-
certificate from the local council on refusal to confirm the maintenance.
What is the amount of payments
The pension due to the loss of the breadwinner is 50% of the pension received by the deceased. In some cases, this amount may be more profitable than your own widow or widow pension.
How to decorate
After collecting all the necessary documents, a person entitled to pay must apply to the territorial unit of the Pension Fund with the appropriate application. They will check and make a decision on the appointment of a pension.
