The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, spoke about the preparation and specifics of the operation in the Kursk region. According to him, a thorough analysis of previous offensive actions, in particular the Kharkiv operation of 2022, helped to effectively plan a new stage of hostilities.
Preparation for the operation was large-scale and based on the experience of previous hostilities. "We calculated various options for the development of events. There was a minimum and a maximum task. The experience of the Kharkiv operation was taken into account, because the terrain was similar," Sirskyi said.
Two days before the start of the offensive, the commander-in-chief visited the front-line units, explained the task and wished the fighters success. At that time, the motivation of the Ukrainian military was at a very high level, which became a key factor in defeating the enemy.
Syrskyi also emphasized the difficulties faced by the Armed Forces during the operation. Russian troops carefully prepared their territory for defense, building strong defense lines, including minefields and well-fortified structures on the main routes.
"The main directions available for the offensive have been fortified to the smallest detail. However, this did not become an insurmountable obstacle for our soldiers," the general stressed.
The Kursk operation became another example of how the Ukrainian military successfully combines experience, planning and motivation to achieve strategic goals. According to Syrskyi, each operation at the front gives new lessons that help the Armed Forces become even stronger.
