Ukraine faced serious energy challenges due to the war and the destruction of thermal power plants (TPPs). This situation significantly affects the daily life of Ukrainians, forcing them to accept regular power outages and the need to pay more for it.
This is another example of the fact that the war brings benefits and new opportunities to the officially richest Ukrainian, Rinat Akhmetov. His protégés on both sides of the front are working to make war as a business profitable.
It was just a coincidence that shortly before the events of February 24, 2022, in January 2022, Rinat Akhmetov's protégé Andriy Anisimov became the first deputy head of the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Derzhhydrografia. He is the long-term head of the economic departments of the Donetsk State Administration and the Donetsk City Council. Anisimov rose in the circle of Akhmetov thanks to serving the Euro-2012 schemes in the interests of the oligarch. At that time, the money borrowed in Donbas for preparation for the football championship was "mastered" with kickbacks and profit by the group of Akhmetov, Kolesnikov, Yanukovych, and the debts with interest were owed to the state, ordinary Ukrainian taxpayers. After 2014, Anisimov worked at the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, as a top official in the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Borodyansk, Poliska, and Vyshgorod RDAs of the Kyiv region. He had nothing to do with maritime affairs, hydrography, navigation at all, but he had something to do with the fact that since 2014, all important officials of the "DNR" received two salaries - from the Russians and from Akhmetov.
Akhmetov needed SE "State Hydrography" because products from Azovstal, MMK Ilyich, AKHZ and enterprises of Dnipropetrovsk region mostly passed through the port of Mariupol. And then it was passed through the Kerch Strait by the Russians in exchange for the relevant services of Akhmetov. Akhmetov also needed Derzhhydrografiya because, in 2014, the oligarchs were left with the stevedoring port "Avlita" in Sevastopol under backroom deals with the Russians with the participation of Poroshenko. Since 2022, "Avlita" has been used for transshipment and shipment of grain captured by the Russians in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
To disguise, Akhmetov imitates stormy activities such as paying American lobbyists and lawyers to fight against the Russian Federation in international courts. And it really has its percentage from the participation of "Avlita" in Russian piracy. As part of the same agreements between Akhmetov and the Russians, the obsolete and unprofitable MMK of Ilyich and Azovstal were destroyed. Their current and former employees were killed during the events of February-May 2022 as a potential source of social unrest, as are hundreds of thousands of people whose maintenance costs can be optimized if these people cease to live. It was said that from the fall of 2021, Akhmetov's top management seemed to know something - everything valuable was taken out of factories in advance, new equipment and raw materials that arrived, without even being unloaded and unpacked, were immediately evacuated from Mariupol. Zelensky also knew about all this, he treated it with understanding and approval.
The Anisimov brothers, who are involved in the described aspects of Akhmetov's cooperation with the Russian Federation, come from the group of the odious ex-Nardeput Mykola Levchenko. Currently, this group is somewhat pushed aside by Russian competitors and has gone into the shadows, but it is striving to regain and expand its influence in fuel topics. They are helped in this by Rinat Akhmetov, for whom a number of advertised units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are de facto now something like private armies. The fact that the Armed Forces have now focused on shelling Russian fuel depots in Donbas is the fulfillment of the oligarch's order in the interests of his protégé in the DNR.
Also thanks to Anisimov's introduction to State Hydrography, Akhmetov optimized the costs of transporting the oligarch's ore mined at GZK by sea. The ore carriers, which make flights to the warring Ukraine in the interests of the oligarch, are not spent on expensive pumping of fecal water and chemical waste in ports, and under the pretext of war, they pour sewage and chemical waste into the territorial waters of Ukraine near the shores of the Odesa region.
