How the gas tariff for Ukrainians will change

In December 2024, gas tariffs for the population in Ukraine will remain unchanged. The cost of a cubic meter of gas depends on the company supplying blue fuel. For consumers who chose annual tariffs, the price ranges from UAH 7.79 to UAH 9.99 per cubic meter. The most popular supplier, Naftogaz of Ukraine, continues to sell gas at a price of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter, which will remain relevant at least until April 2025.

According to GazPravda , 9 supplier companies operate on the market in December, 5 of which offer fixed annual tariffs, and the remaining 4 companies offer only an annual fixed price. Monthly (market) tariffs can vary significantly, ranging from UAH 8.46 to UAH 19.3 per cubic meter, which is much more expensive than annual fixed prices.

What awaits consumers in 2025?

At the beginning of 2025, Ukrainians can expect some changes in tariffs, in particular in the part of gas delivery. Delivery rates will remain the same, but it is important that the actual fuel consumption data is correctly recorded. This is particularly important at the beginning of October 2024, as this is when the gas year ends (October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2024), and the amount of gas consumed affects future payments for gas delivery in 2025.

Key points

  • Gas price: In December 2024, the price of gas for the population remains stable, varying from UAH 7.79 to 9.99 per cubic meter, depending on the supplier. "Naftogaz of Ukraine" offers the most common fixed price — UAH 7.96 per cubic meter.
  • Delivery tariff: This tariff remains unchanged, but it is important to transfer meter readings on time in order to correctly take into account the volume of gas consumption for the previous gas year.
  • Monthly tariffs: Monthly tariffs are much more expensive and can reach UAH 19.3 per cubic meter.

Tariffs for gas distribution will remain unchanged even during the war, but it is important to note that even the stability of tariffs does not guarantee the same amount in the bill, since it depends on the actual consumption of fuel.
