Maryana Bezugla, People's Deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, expressed her opinion about the events taking place in the east of Ukraine. According to her, if Petro Poroshenko had remained president after the 2019 elections, the situation with the invasion of the Russian Federation in Donbas would not have reached such a scale as it is now.
She announced this in Telegram.
"Presidential elections were held 5 years ago. Our wild democracy is still a democracy, and every election changes the fate of the country. I personally believe that if Poroshenko had won, there would not have been a full-scale invasion now. The Minsk agreements, the special status of "Donbass" and Medvedchuk's empire would be further developed. They would keep silent about Crimea, which was bloodlessly surrendered in 2014, not to destroy their fleet there. Russia, like almost three decades (and even earlier, a century!) before, would firmly hold us as its colony and maintain an almost decent reputation in the world.
Whether it is good or bad is for everyone to judge. For the fate of an individual family, country, civilization. After all, in the USSR, if you didn't stutter about freedom, you could live a completely comfortable and stable life with a "social package", Zhiguli and "Artek", - noted the deputy of the "Servants of the People".
