June 29 is a date that combines several important events in religious, folk and international calendars. On this day, they remember the apostles of Peter and Paul, honor the youth, take care of the environment, and also adhere to ancient Ukrainian rites.
Church holiday on June 29
Orthodox believers honor the Holy Apostles of Peter and Paul - the two closest disciples of Jesus Christ, who became symbols of faith, courage and spiritual service. On this day, it is started to go to the temple, pray for strengthening the faith, asking for healing, as well as supporting family and life difficulties.
In the people, the feast of Peter and Paul was considered the end of summer festivities and the beginning of harvest. This date was called "Summer's Makivka". Traditionally, the owners completed the main cleaning in the house and prepared a ritual baking of young ears.
Folk customs and signs
On June 29, it is associated with a number of traditions that were supposed to provide good harvest and health per year. In the morning, people washed with water from three springs, fed cattle with yellow flowers for its fertility, and also tried to catch and cook fish - in honor of the Apostle Peter, the patron saint of fishermen.

That today cannot be done
As in most church holidays, on June 29, it is not recommended to do hard physical work, to quarrel, to use obscene vocabulary. It is also forbidden to eat the first berries and fruits of a new crop - it was believed that it could cause disease.

At the state level, June 29 celebrates Youth, Youth and Children's Organizations. These communities play an important role in the education of the younger generation, the development of social activity and leisure of children.
