Starting from May 18, a new law on mobilization came into force, which provides for the obligation to update registration data for all conscripted citizens within 60 days, until July 16.
A military law lawyer, junior reserve lieutenant Volodymyr Romanchuk, noted that citizens who do not fulfill this duty may be prosecuted.
According to the law, all citizens between the ages of 18 and 60 must update their data. However, not all of them must pass the military medical board. If a citizen is excluded from military registration, passed the commission less than a year ago, or updates data through the "Reserve+" application, where the commission is not required, the procedure takes only 15-20 minutes.
Volodymyr Romanchuk explained that in some cases it may take several days, especially if part of the personal file has not yet been digitized in the territorial collection centers.
The law also provides for liability for failure to update data within two months, which may be considered a violation of military accounting rules under Article 210-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Penalties are provided for individuals, however, according to the lawyer, those who refuse to update their data after being called to the territorial picking center are most at risk of being prosecuted.
