In Ukraine, social benefits for children will continue in 2025, including benefits for pregnant women, postpartum benefits, monthly payments for guardians, and other benefits. Let's take a closer look at what benefits are provided to families with children.
Child benefits after childbirth and during maternity leave
This year, state assistance during maternity leave is provided to both employed and unemployed women. For officially employed women, the minimum amount of maternity leave is UAH 7,100 per month, the maximum is UAH 106,500 per month. This amount is calculated based on the woman's annual salary before going on maternity leave. For unemployed women, the benefit is 25% of the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, i.e. UAH 757 per month.
After the birth of a child or its adoption, the amount of assistance from the state is 41,280 UAH, with payments made in stages: the first 10,320 UAH is received by the mother after the birth of the child or adoption, and 860 UAH is paid monthly for three years.
Social benefits for children in care, single mothers and alimony
Ukraine continues to pay benefits to single mothers and families with children in care. Payments for children under six years old amount to UAH 2,563 per month, for children from 6 to 18 years old - UAH 3,196, and for children up to 23 years old who are studying full-time in higher educational institutions - UAH 3,028.
For children in care, the benefit is:
- for a child under 6 years old — 6407.5 UAH;
- for a child under 6 years old with a disability - 8970.5 UAH;
- for a child from 6 to 18 years old - 7990 UAH;
- for a child from 6 to 18 years old with a disability - 11,186 UAH.
There are also payments for those who care for sick children. They are:
- for a child under 6 years old — 5126 UAH;
- for a child from 6 to 18 years old - 6392 UAH.
Alimony payments
Child support in Ukraine is determined in the event that parents fail to fulfill their obligations to pay it. In 2025, the guaranteed amount of child support is:
- for children under 6 years old — UAH 1,281.50 per month;
- for children from 6 to 18 years old - 1,598 UAH per month.
Maximum amount of child support:
- up to 6 years old - 25,630 UAH;
- from 6 to 18 years old - 31,960 UAH.
These payments should not exceed 10 subsistence minimums for one child.
