In October 2024, the most sought-after jobs in Ukraine were in the retail sector – 17,521 vacancies were posted during the month. Second place was taken by specialists in wholesale trade and distribution with 10,171 vacancies, which confirms the high demand for sales workers. The hotel and restaurant business came in third in terms of the number of job offers with 9,868 vacancies.
The most and least in-demand professions
In addition to sales and service, vacancies for:
- Defense Forces – 6983;
- medicine, healthcare, pharmacies – 6503.
Among the least popular professions:
- designers – 40 vacancies;
- show business, art, culture – 163;
- tourism – 215;
- forestry and mining industries – 274 and 284 vacancies, respectively.
Salary growth in various fields
Salaries in October increased by an average of 5%, reaching UAH 22,500. In some industries, the increase was even more noticeable:
- in agriculture – by 7%, up to 24,000 UAH;
- in construction – by 6%, up to 27,500 UAH;
- in the cultural sphere – by 6%, up to UAH 21,500.
Salaries also increased by 5% in the following areas:
- logistics – up to 21,000 UAH;
- medicine and pharmaceuticals – up to 22,500 UAH;
- working specialties and production – up to 22,500 UAH.
In regional terms, the largest increase in salaries was observed in Lviv region, where the average salary increased by UAH 1,500 and reached UAH 22,500. Other regions also showed positive dynamics:
- Kyiv region – by 1,050 UAH, up to 25,000 UAH;
- Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa – for 1,000 UAH, up to 21,000 UAH;
- Kharkiv – for 1,000 UAH, up to 20,000 UAH.
