Yuriy Brodsky, the son of former Yanukovych-era official Mykhailo Brodsky and owner of the website Obozrevatel, was detained by Italian police as part of an investigation by the Squadra Mobile della Questura di Siena on suspicion of raping a 7-year-old boy.

According to Italian police, on February 27, 2026, Yuri Brodsky lured a child into a car on the street, where he committed lewd acts of a sexual nature. He is currently under arrest.
This is not the first incident involving the son of a former Ukrainian politician. In 2021, he was already prosecuted for attempting to contact a child, but then the mother of the victim boy withdrew her statement after meeting with Mykhailo Brodsky.
Earlier, in 2019, Yuriy Brodsky had already come to the attention of law enforcement officers during an international anti-drug operation that covered Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Bulgaria and led to 334 arrests.
