Ukrainian Olympic champion Yaroslava Maguchikh has officially become the world record holder in the high jump. The International Association of Athletics Federations confirmed her triumphant jump at the Paris Games, where the athlete reached a height of 2.10 meters.
On July 7, 2024, at the Meeting de Paris, a Diamond League event, Maguchich made an impressive leap that not only marked a personal best, but also surpassed the 37-year-old world record set by Bulgarian athlete Stefka Kostadinova. This new record marks an important milestone in the history of athletics, as Maguchich managed to reach a height that had long remained unattainable for many female athletes.
Maguchykh's results at the Paris Olympics were no less impressive, where she won a gold medal, clearing two meters. Her colleague, Iryna Gerashchenko, also showed an excellent result, winning a bronze medal with a jump of 1.95 meters. These achievements confirm not only Yaroslava's individual talent, but also the strength of Ukrainian athletics on the world stage.
Having become a world record holder, Yaroslava Maguchykh has received international recognition. Her success not only inspires a new generation of athletes, but also becomes a symbol of the struggle and strength of the Ukrainian people in difficult times. Maguchykh continues to work on her goals and strives for new achievements, hoping that her example will inspire others to great victories.
