The UDR has returned to work after a three-week hiatus following a cyber attack

The Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organizations (USR) resumed work after a three-week downtime due to a large-scale cyber attack. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

From now on, citizens and government institutions can again use the following important functions of the registry:

  • Searching for information in the registry is available free of charge;
  • Formation of extracts - both for individuals and legal entities;
  • Obtaining admin services - with the help of special access codes;
  • Interaction with state bodies - through automated systems.

Work has also resumed for the following key state structures:

  • State Tax Service;
  • State Statistics Service;
  • Pension Fund of Ukraine;
  • Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Thanks to this, a number of online services became available again through the Diya portal.

How are registries protected?

According to representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the restoration of the work of the EDR became possible thanks to the coordinated work of the National Information Systems, the Cyber Police, the Cyber Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, and State Special Communications. In addition to restoring access to the registries, attention was focused on strengthening their protection.

"We understand how important access to public services is for citizens and businesses. Therefore, our experts are working to ensure that such attacks do not have such consequences in the future," the Ministry of Justice said.

We will remind you that on December 19, 2024, Ukraine became the victim of one of the most powerful cyber attacks in history. State registries became the main target, which caused the temporary blocking of many services.

Despite the complexity of the situation, social benefits for citizens were not violated. As noted in the Ministry of Social Policy, payments were made according to the planned schedule.

The Ministry of Justice promises to continue restoring the work of other registers and improving cyber protection systems. Although attacks by Russian hackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, Ukraine is demonstrating the ability to respond quickly and protect its digital systems.

The restoration of the work of the EDR was an important step on the way to the stability and digital security of the country.
