The European Investment Bank (EIB) provided Ukraine with EUR 55 million for the restoration of social infrastructure as part of the "Ukraine Recovery Program". The money will be used for the reconstruction of critical facilities in 12 regions, including hospitals, schools, water supply and drainage systems.
According to the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, funding will be directed to the implementation of 151 sub-projects in such regions as Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and Chernihiv. The program covers the reconstruction of not only educational institutions and hospitals, but also social housing, heating systems and other critical infrastructure facilities.
This contribution is part of the package of Emergency Solidarity Measures from the EIB for Ukraine, developed in close cooperation with the European Commission. It is important that these funds are allocated under the guarantees of the European Union, which emphasizes the support of the EU in restoring the social infrastructure of Ukraine.
Within the framework of the program, several sub-projects have already been completed, including a water treatment plant in Buch, two schools in Vinnytsia region, a children's infectious disease department in Zhytomyr region, as well as a sewage pressure collector in Zhmerynka, which confirms the effectiveness and importance of this financial assistance for the country in the post-war period .
