The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated that Ukraine does not plan to hold the second Peace Summit until the preparation of a joint plan for the implementation of each of the points of the "peace formula" is completed. He told about this in an interview for "European Pravda", reports the "Comments" portal.
Yermak emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the next summit can take place only after a clear action plan is ready for all ten points of the "peace formula" that was presented earlier. He explained that this plan provides specific steps to achieve each of the points, which include both general goals on which there is already international agreement, and more complex issues, such as responsibility for aggression, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Andriy Yermak also reported that after a meeting at the level of national security advisers in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), it was agreed to create ten working groups consisting of ambassadors and experts. These groups should work out specific steps to implement each of the clauses of the formula.
"Among the 10 points of the 'peace formula', there are those on which there is a common position in the world, and we have already started with them at the first summit. There are also more complex issues that we are working on," Yermak noted. He added that President Zelensky wants to organize thematic conferences that will record the work of high-level working groups in order to draw up a joint plan.
The head of the President's Office emphasized that Kyiv does not want to delay the preparation of this plan for many months, but he could not confirm the possibility of holding the second summit in 2024. Yermak emphasized that for the successful holding of the second Peace Summit, it is necessary for the countries to agree on a joint plan. He urged not to expect the summit to become a final decision and emphasized that everything will depend on how many countries support the plan.
